This species was reported from one site in Suffolk Co., NY in 1923; but no specimens have been seen. Additionally, Keil & Ochsmann in Flora of North America Vol. 19, 2006 page 194, state that all North American reports of C. paniculata are apparently referable to C. stoebe ssp. micranthos.
