General Discussion

Quercus x brittonii W.T. Davis Bull. Torrey Bot. Club 9:301. 1892.

This hybrid oak results from the crossing of bear and blackjack oaks and is one of the more frequently occuring of the hybrid oaks in the New York metropolitan area, with leaves intermediate in characters between the two parents.
