General Discussion

This European species has been reported from various part of the CT-NJ-NY tri-state area, but no specimens have been seen. There are likely some identification problems with P. bellardii; this species is closely related to P. ramosissimum ssp. ramosissimum, P. aviculare ssp. rurivagum, and other Polygonum taxa and may be confused with them. Polygonum bellardii may eventually be confirmed in our area.
