General Discussion

At the extreme northeastern part of its range, this species may appear in our flora. One voucher from Hunterdon Co. (circa 1891) is labeled Valerianella radiata; however it is sterile and its identification cannot be confirmed at this time. This specimen more likely represents V. umbilicata (Sulliv.) A. Wood (syn. Valerianella radiata var. intermedia (Dyal) Gleason).
