Chionanthus virginicus
Chionanthus virginicus is native along the east coast as far north as southern New Jersey. Specimens in our area most likely represent local escapes from cultivation, not disjunct populations; but further research is needed. Also reportedly escaping from cultivation in Orange Co., NY.
