General Discussion

The Turkey oak (sometimes called Turkish Oak), is native to southern Europe and Asia Minor, and planted as an ornamental in North America. Juvenile, apparently adventive specimens have been found in the vicinity of planted trees in Central Park, Manhattan. Further research is needed to determine if this constitutes a reproducing naturalized population.
