Quercus x hawkinsii Sudw. Amer. Forestry 23: 685, fig. 1,2,5. 1917.

This hybrid oak results from the crossing of northern red and black oaks and occurs infrequently in the New York metropolitan area; intermediate in characters between the two parents.
