General Discussion

Quercus x robbinsii Trel. Proc. Amer. Phil. Soc. 56: 51. 1917.

This hybrid oak results from the crossing of scarlet and bear oaks. There is one record from Staten Island. Since both parental species are common in the metropolitan area, it is expected that more specimens could be found; with leaves intermediate in characters between the two parents.
