The one record from the upper Hudson River was an observation at Croton Point in 1931 during a Torrey Botanical Club field trip. This could represent a specimen carried upriver by the tide.
Undoubtably more common along the littoral regions of the New York metropolitan area than the map would indicate; due to its submerged habitat it is under-reported/collected.
