General Discussion

Coix lacryma-jobi L. is a south Asian species used as an ornamental in North America. There is one reported adventive occurrence from Bronx Co., NY, as well as reports of escapes in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. It may eventually be confirmed in our area, but no specimens have yet been seen.
