Solanum nigrum s. l. complex - Black Nightshade
There has been taxonomic confusion in the Solanum nigrum s. l. complex- including the taxa S. ptycanthum, P. physalifolium (S. sarrachoides), and S. villosum. Further research is needed to clarify the occurrence and distribution of these taxa in the NY metropolitan area; and they are herein mapped as one unit.
