General Discussion

This predominantly Appalachian species has been reported from Orange and Rockland Cos., NY, but no specimens have been seen. These reports may represent occurrences of Carex lurida which is very similar in appearance to C. baileyi. Further research is needed to clarify the status of C. baileyi in the New York metropolitan region.
